Smith College – Sabin Reed Vivarium

Keiter Builders was hired as a Construction Manager to be responsible for project development and construction oversight of a major upgrade to the Vivarium mechanical systems. The Vivarium is 7,740 SF of space located in the basement of Sabin Reed that houses animals used for scientific research. The purpose of this project was to provide Smith College with a stable, safe and comfortable environment for animals and personnel while also improving energy performance.

This project involved the complete removal and replacement of the existing HVAC system in the Vivarium area, a new 100KW generator, and numerous other mechanical and finish upgrades.
